HAWAII day ...8?
ALOHA!
let me catch you up on the trip, last thing i wrote was about days 0-2
since then, we have done a crap load of stuff...
everything from:
ocean side hiking with jagged rocky hills and caves that turned out to be off limits.
diamond head crater hiking up to the top of steep steps and rocky dirt paths to a city/ocean view.
surfing with some cool people and learning orientation tricks so the ocean wont eat us.
Germaine's luau show and buffet, with the crazy fire breathers and talented bus tour guides/luau dancers/warriors and an underground roasted pig ceremony..
and yesterdays big island tour adventure...
Hawaii, big island tour
We found ourselves waiting outside for the shuttle that we scheduled to pick us up outside of the hotel,we had to call about a hundred times for it to come but once we went to the airport it was semi smooth sailing from then on.
we rented a car and got a few maps of the big island, we figured we could plan out our own tour and experience the whole island in one day.. no one told us everything attraction is so far from each other. we went north from the Hilo air port and made a semi circle around the island which took us to some very interesting places. we would go from ocean view coasts with green grass and palm trees to woods with super tall and straight trees to old towns to black sand beaches to mountains that had nothing but the greenest grass you could ever imagine and cows, to the desert and volcanic rocky planes all on one island.
the long roads were weaving up and down and turning and twisting throughout the island, and the scenes were all so different from the next that my body must of thought i was on some kind of an acid trip from the sights it was seeing. lets just say that I'm glad i didn't have much to eat before hand cuz I'm sure we would of seen more than just a few fries on the ground...
we were never able to make it to the actual volcano (just the outer damage) or the macadamia nut factory or the highest peak (cuz of the acid-like trip) or the Cona Coffee fields since we went to Akaka falls and Waipio valley first and then realized that each road was like 2 hours long and far from each other and we had to be back to the airport by 7:30 despite all that it was quite the adventure of a life time and we experienced a part of Hawaii we never knew existed, definitely a road trip we will never forget.
today we have snorkeling with ocean critters and more surfing planned before heading off to capoeira class..
DON'T WORRY WE HAVE LOTS OF PICTURES TO SHOW YOU WHEN WE GET BACK
ALOHA
A HUI HOU
(till we meet again...)
